Cathal McCarron to Enter Rehab

Posted by Keith Nulty in News | Apr 2014

We would like to wish former Tyrone and current London footballer Cathal McCarron all the very best as he enters rehabilitation for a gambling addiction.

The vice of gambling has rear its head a number of times in the GAA in recent months, with several high profile players admitting to issues.

While this is a worrying trend, the upside is that its power as a stigma is being greatly reduced as more and more people are willing to talk about it honestly and progressively.

At this difficult time we hope all Gaels will join us in lending our moral support to all of these people in their time of need, and we would urge you to reach out to the appropriate services if you or anyone you know is affected by gambling or mental health issues in general.

Ironic the GaelicLive associates itself with gambling in a number of high profile ads placed around the story?
