Review of last week’s action

Sickening! The Proper Punter predicted the Tipp Galway game to be open, attacking and free flowing. Barney backed over 51.5 points at a great price of 11/10. The result, total match points finished on 51. Hard to take! But for the last 3 weeks, we have been making selections midweek, and by throw in time the price has moved in considerably, so that shows we are doing a lot right! If you get value you will get profit.

It’s a long-term game. Back to HQ this weekend for the clash of Tyrone and Kerry, and it’s a little difficult to get excited about this after last weekends hurling classic.

Current balance -17 units.

GAA All Ireland Football Championship Semi Final

Kerry v Tyrone, Croke Park – Sunday, 3.30pm

The last championship meeting between the sides was in 2012 –a round 3 qualifier when Kerry won by 10 points in Killarney. Prior to that, it was the 2007 All Ireland final when Tyrone were victorious.

We have no doubt Kerry will win this fixture. Kerry love Croke Park. Kerry are a much better side. Kerry are the only team capable of stopping Dublin this year. Tyrone are an average side. We would base their presence in the Semi final more down to Monaghan not showing up in the Quarter Final than anything else.

Most bookies are pricing this game up as Kerry 3/4 point favourites and we believe the line should be more like 5/6. Kerry can be backed in Stan James at 5/4 -4 points. But Barney is veering on the side of caution after last week’s burn.

Recommendation: 12 units Kerry to win -3 points at 5/6 Paddy Power.
