Review of last week’s action

Current Balance -18 points.

What happened last week? Well Galway did the business for us. Unfortunately Waterford proved too strong for Dublin and Westmeath saved their worst performance of the summer for when it counted most. We move to Croke Park for a set of football double headers on Saturday and Sunday!

GAA All Ireland Senor Football Championship Qualifier

Donegal v Galway 6pm Saturday.

The last of the football qualifiers sees Donegal face Galway at Croke Park. Donegal have not been kind to the Proper Punter this summer. I couldn’t see them losing to Monaghan in the Ulster final, but Malachy O’Rourke and his charges had different plans.

Donegal owe us one. They are currently available on Betfair Sportsbook at 8/15 for the win. Again, I simply can’t see them being beaten, they have too much class, too much depth, and are too physical for this Galway opposition.

6 points Donegal to win @8/15 – Betfair SportsBook.

GAA All Ireland Senor Football Championship Quarter Finals

Kerry v Kildare 2pm Sunday Croke Park.

How can we predict the outcome of this fixture? Ok, well first up- Kerry are good, perhaps very good, and they will not take their foot off the pedal if they get the lead. They also have a pretty good record in Croke Park.

Kildare, well Kildare are poor, but they pulled off the shock of the season against Cork. They looked stronger and more physical than the Leesiders in a comfortable win. BUT… I would put that performance more down to Cork not showing up than Kildare being brilliant.

One swallow doesn’t make a summer, so back Kerry now and go lumpy…

4 points Kerry -6 @ 11/10 Boylesports

Dublin v Fermanagh, 4pm, Croke Park.

And this years All Ireland winners are…..Dublin. The Dubs have too much strength in depth to miss out on Sam this year- Simples. No team is good enough to beat them.

Dublin showed up against Meath and beat the handicap easily. Against Westmeath they played poorly and came close to beating a heftier handicap. This time round Paddypower are offering a 14 point line with Dublin at Evens.

It’s a big handicap, but I think Dublin will beat it. Despite their comfortable win, Fermanagh are not streets ahead of Westmeath. So, expect the Dubs to win by 15-20points.

4 points Dublin to win -14 @ evens.
