Lucy Woolford

I am a Journalism graduate from the University of Chester. I have recently moved from England to live in Co Louth. I’m a stickler for stats, pleased by puns and an awful alliterator. Follower of most sports, player of very little.

My first love is soccer, particularly West Ham United, so most weekends I can be found at a Premier League ground somewhere in England. But after moving to Ireland I have picked up an interest in GAA. By writing the GAA Daily News, my knowledge has increased and my desire to know more is picking up.

My first experience of real life gaelic football was to watch my boyfriend’s cousin play on a cold, damp day a few years ago on a small field in Co Louth. I asked many questions and got a few answers, but enjoyed the fact that I was learning something new and getting involved with local sport.

Writing for livegaelic.com is proving to be great fun and I’m enjoying telling my friends and family things I know that they don’t!
