Barry Lenihan

Barry Lenihan is a second year journalism student in Dublin City University.

Barry, 20, lives in Shankill in South Dublin but his family are laced with Kerry blood and his claim to fame is being pictured on the front page of the Irish Times the day after Kerry won the All-Ireland in 2009 celebrating on the Croke Park pitch. He regularly follows the Kerry team around the country and his favourite GAA moment is when Kerry demolished Armagh in 2006- dispelling myths they couldn’t beat northern teams.

Barry also contributes to Paddy Power’s weekly sports show, and in the past has contributed to shows on Newstalk, 4fm and Q102 over his headline-making interview with former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.

In the future Barrry hopes to be a sports broadcaster, specialising in GAA, while he also hopes to offer different viewpoints, talking points and nostalgic opportunities for visitors to this website.

The highlight of his journalistic career so far is interviewing legendary former Kerry manager Mick O’Dwyer while he also appeared on the Late Late Toy Show in 2002 and has had articles published in most of Ireland’s major newspapers including The Irish Times and Irish Daily Mail.
